Hello Goddess, welcome back to Goddess Hour.
Recently, I made 24 trips around the sun. I’ve been thankful that I am still here continuing this life journey and that I’ve been able to have my own human experience. I never imagined my life past 18 years old. I was lost and experiencing some of the hardest years of my life as a teen so I couldn’t picture my future. This life has always felt illusive to me. I never felt like I was from this era, I never felt a part of my family, I never genuinely fit in with people, and I never felt like I was from this planet. As a person that has always felt like an outsider, it has been hard to exist in a world when you don’t know your place in it.
After continued years of self discovery, traumas, healing, and a spiritual awakening, I finally began to understand myself and the world around me. I’m fortunate that I’ve made it past some of the hardest years of my life, but I am more than fortunate that I understand who I am and what I want out of this life. I have gone through some tragic events but have experienced some of the most beautiful life changing events and people in this life and all of those experiences have shaped me into this spiritual, independent, motivated, and adventurous person I am today. I wanted to share the things I have learned in this life as a young entrepreneur as an honor to myself for staying strong and learning how to not only love myself, but my life too. I’m hoping that this can give other outsiders like me some solace in knowing that you one day will find your place on this earth.
What have you learned these past 24 years?
Love yourself and create a life you love too.
Self love has become a popular trend in our society, but when I began my self love journey it was way before hashtags were even a thing. I was around 15 years old when I first discovered falling in love with myself, and after a harsh break up and living on my own, I dedicated my whole life to learning to love myself and live on my own terms. I reinvented the things I didn’t like about myself that were unhealthy and accepted myself and eventually learned to love all of me. This has created a healthy romanticism with life, but has also made me appreciate my life and myself a million times more. Life is too short not to love yourself.
Be unapologetically yourself.
I went through an intense spiritual awakening and as the universe and world around me started to make sense, I learned that you need to stop giving a f*ck about what people think of you. It’s like that cliche saying “when you stop caring about what people think then, you are truly free.” I am now a business woman, I’m networking, and I’m putting myself out there; and it used to be terrifying, but it’s not anymore because I don’t care about the judgment of others. I’m aware that not everyone is going to vibe with me or mock me or believe in me and that’s okay with me. I couldn’t roll with just anyone either, and as long as I like myself and I am respected, then I’m good.
Have no expectations and do not fantasize.
As a clairvoyant empath it is extremely hard not to fantasize about things. You see a movie about Paris and the way they romanticize the city makes you fantasize about it, but you’ve never actually been to the city. You do not know what you’re getting yourself into until you see the reality of it. Fantasizing about things or having expectations has left me disappointed, dissatisfied, and sad. I’ve learned that it is better to experience whatever it may be first and understand it so I don’t intentionally go off to disappoint myself and this leaves a little sense of surprise which makes experiences better oftentimes.
Embarrassment only occurs if you let it. You cannot be embarrassed unless you allow yourself to be.
As a brand new business woman I’ve done a lot of research and podcasts on how to run business, business development, and growing as a business person. I listened to a podcast with the Spanx CEO, Sara Blakely and she has become a highly successful business person since she created Spanx, and something she said that was instilled in her at a very young age is to embarrass yourself. It sounded a little weird at first until she explained that if you do embarrassing things eventually it becomes not so embarrassing, and it’ll be hard to be embarrassed. This will ultimately open the door to new opportunities for you because you will no longer worry about if you’re going to embarrass yourself or what other people think. I’d rather be the person that tried and possibly embarrassed myself than the person that never tried because they were too afraid to.
Confrontation can be a part of self love & setting boundaries.
I used to despise confrontation and I would do anything to avoid it. But I quickly realized that in order for me to express myself or set boundaries sometimes confrontation is inevitable. I would much rather deal with confrontation in respect for myself, boundaries, and feelings than to deal with problems weighing on me. It is not my responsibility to hold onto emotions that someone made me feel and stay quiet about it. Express yourself and release yourself from the things that are weighing you down.
Focus on what you can control & not what you can’t.
With all the world issues that are going on it’s been hard for the world’s issues not to weigh on me. After years of going to therapy, one of the biggest things I took from it is to focus on what you can control. This has freed me from unnecessary sadness, anger, but mostly it’s freed me from stress. It’s okay to be worried but you need to have a healthy balance of being worried but not allowing the stress to consume you over it.
It’s a spiritual world & we’re all living in it.
I’ve always been spiritually sensitive and as a child it used to freak me out. I thought there was something wrong with me that I could feel energy even when there was nothing there, that I knew that eyes could tell stories, I knew what the evil eye was even before I was educated on it. I gravitated towards my indigenous spiritual side my whole life without even knowing anything about it. Since I’ve become more spiritually inclined, it became more apparent to me that spirits have always walked amongst us, there are just those people that see, feel, and hear them, and those who are blind to it. The spiritual world beats the odds of the physical, do not underestimate what’s going on the other side. Learning from spirits in this world is the most beneficial thing you could do as a spiritually sensitive person. Understand who they are, why they’re here, and what they want us to know. There is so much more to being indigenous than just understanding that there is a spiritual world that very much exists on this earth. I will continue to research my roots and connect with them for the rest of my life. It is my obligation as an indegnous person to carry on traditions and pass them down to my future children. I’ve found a greater appreciation for life and other beings surrounded around me, but mostly planet earth and god.
Feel your emotions, do not bury them, to avoid unhealed wounds.
I used to be notorious for not wanting to feel raw emotion especially after my first heartbreak-the passing of my father. I did anything to numb down the pain which led to unhealthy coping skills that eventually became habits. As painful as it sounds, I allow myself to go through all of the emotions I’m feeling mentally, physically, and I give myself all the time I need. When processing my emotions I give myself something delicious to drink which has been a coping skill of mine. It’s usually coffee or tea and when I make it on the stove or with a pot, I immerse myself in the action of doing it and consuming it to better appreciate the nourishment it’s giving my body, and recognize that I am doing something nice for myself to show care. This has saved me an immense amount of time by not dealing with unhealed wounds or traumas. You will have to come face to face with traumas and it’s more adequate to deal with them when the feeling is still fresh.
Your reality exists in your own head.
You live in your own world and the people around you only exist in your world because you allow them to. Along with your environment and job. You get to decide how you want to live your life and who exists in it. But the best part about this phenomenon is that you realize you have full control over your life and what you dwell on. I used to deal with self doubt and dwelled on things I couldn’t stop worrying about, until I realized this whole reality I am experiencing starts with me and ends with me. It gives you a sense of peace knowing you are in full control over your life and you get to create it however you want it.
The wisdom I have gained over the years has undeniably molded me into a stronger version of my younger self. It’s an honor to continue my journey on this earth and explore more horizons than I already have. As an old soul that feels as though I have lived thousands of lives makes me feel tired, yet still deprived of the world and the experiences it has in store for me. The universe never seems to fail to fascinate me and it’s thrilling to know that I am going to learn even more and accomplish even more in this life. But the best part about it all is that I know who I am, what I want, and I get to experience life in this version of myself.
Cheers to 24! Cheers to more exploring, adventure, love, and success. I love my life and I can’t wait to see what the universe holds for me. Thanks for reading Goddess<3
