Fall Fashion Wishlist

Fall and winter are by far my favorite seasons and no, not because of the weather (absolutely not),but because of the fashion style that fall welcomes. You can stack layers upon layers of clothing with booties or heels, plus the accessories:scarfs, gloves, hats, & Barrett’s, in love! My looks are definitely inspired by some dark academia along with modern monochromatic outfits. I’m mixing a lot of cozy along with business caj, and I am beyond excited to experiment with the new pieces I find and found! Here are some of my Fall essentials: 

Maxi coat

I am on the hunt for a long overcoat or maxi coat. Eventually I want to invest in a vintage overcoat, something that I can pass down to someone who would appreciate it or could potentially gain its value in the future. But I also want multiple so I have my options for different outfits. When I visited Anchorage I stopped by Goodwill to search for a maxi coat and got lucky. It’s a J. Crew tweed maxi coat. It’s heavy, with a brown, black, and bronze stitching. There was only one maxi coat left at Goodwill in the Men’s section which was exactly what I was looking for. I never understood why women steer away from men’s clothing when they can really give the outfit more body, and sometimes even fit better. I tried it on and instantly fell in love. I’ve gotten so many compliments on it already. Here’s the coat I purchased from Goodwill, as well as some different ideas on what overcoats I’m looking for. 

Black boots

 A pair of black booties are essential to the fall season. My mom passed down some black two inch heeled booties to me that she hasn’t worn since she lived in Alaska almost six years ago. I’ve had them for about two years and have worn them down to the heel, literally. It’s about time I invested in some new black booties, and so I went on the web looking through second hand websites, even facebook marketplace. I came across two different pairs of booties that were similar to the ones I’ve been on the hunt for. Here’s some that I recently just purchased and different styles I’ve had my eye on. 

Cashmere sweaters

Cashmere sweaters are cozy, chic, but wow are they expensive. Around Christmas of last year I received my first cashmere sweater, I loved it so much until I realized how expensive they were. I’ve been doing a lot of digging on Poshmark trying to find used but good quality cashmere sweaters. Ralph Lauren has by far some of the nicest cashmere sweaters but I’m looking to get some second hand ones before I purchase directly through them. 

Skirts & tights

I live in Fairbanks, Alaska, so skirts and tights are not your ideal outfit for the type of weather that we experience (negative thirty freaking degrees, ugh); but on a nice warm day you best believe I’m rocking my tights with a mini skirt. I often resort to plaid skirts, leather, or mole skin. When it comes to tights I’m always looking for lace floral patterns, opaque tights which are great for winter and fall, or seamless tights. Lace tights with a little crop top, booties, scarf, and overcoat on top is my ideal fall outfit.

Track suits

Now this is absolutely a Hailey Bieber inspiration. I absolutely love the track suits with a maxi coat or overcoat on top. It’s perfect, especially for Alaska when you want to be comfy but with style. I’m still researching for track suits that are monochromatic and pretty plain for the most part; no logos or extra designs. I’ve been looking into Danielle Bernstein’s collection of track suits but haven’t done enough research on how ethical the brand is along with Talentless which is owned by Scott Disick. I like the simple plain look tracksuits and just add a baseball cap to the outfit and wallah! Cozy & Chic (*chefs kiss*)

Turtlenecks

Turtlenecks are a great way to add some detail to a nice maxi coat, pea coat, or trench coat. Turtlenecks are a vibe within itself and it can really compliment an iconic overcoat or trench coat. They’re great for an inbetween of casual and classy.  Add some gold jewelry with a black turtle neck and you’re a classy mobster or The Rock Dwayne Johnson (if you don’t know what I’m referring to google it, you’re welcome lol).

Slacks

It’s all about the big blazers with the slacks underneath, and balenciaga shoes to put it all together (but we ain’t that rich yet). I’m on the hunt for some nice slacks, and looked around Goodwill but couldn’t find any that fit just right. Although I did find some black leggings/slacks and regular slacks at GoodWill.

I’m hoping to start posting the pieces I’ve thrifted and found mid November. I’m still waiting on some shoes and clothes to come in the mail that will complete my outfits altogether. Stay tuned for another Fall Fashion outfit inspiration post.
