Viva Las Vegas

For the past 5 years, I’ve been traveling back and forth to Las Vegas. And no, it’s not just for fun- it’s where my mother resides. I’ve always had a love for the city as it represents something known to all: sin. Everyone has a dark side to them, whether they like it or not. As a young woman with a dark past, Vegas  always felt like a second home to me. The glam, carefree energy, luxury, and the wild- I live for it all. More than anything, I’ve always enjoyed sitting in a red carpet lounge, smoking, with a martini in hand. Something about the energy in Vegas has always made me feel that I can embrace my darkness with style. However, one can lose themselves in Vegas and that’s why the motto is, “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”. Luckily I’ve never gotten into too much trouble, just a little fun. There are a handful of places in Vegas that I will always be sure to stop in before my visit is over. Here are just a few!

The Cosmopolitan– Absolutely one of the most beautiful hotels in Vegas. I adore this hotel when it comes to the architecture and diamond dripping interior design. Yes, there are diamonds dripping from the ceilings to the railings. Then there’s the bar with it’s complementing dark velvet couches and gorgeous black marble floors. The Cosmopolitan has a rich woman’s vibe, and if you’ve ever heard the term, “diamonds are a girl’s best friend” … well they took that literally. 

Red Rock Casino– Red Rock is a newer casino with a beautiful red interior. It is located off the strip in the elegant little town of Summerlin, Las Vegas. One of my favorite parts about this Casino is the pool and Cabanas. For my 21st birthday, my bestfriend and boyfriend surprised me with a cabana, and I’ll be honest, the best part was the food. I am a foodie, and almost always hotel food disappoints me; but I took the leap of faith and ordered a poke bowl, and I am so glad I did. As a Californian native, and now an Alaskan, I know sea food – and that was some of the freshest Ahi Tuna I’ve had. It wasn’t just the food that was amazing, the cabanas were fantastically comfortable with two different tanning chairs out front, a tv and couch in the back, and a dining table behind the lounge area. There was one big pool with a water fountain in the middle, and another small pool to the right. This was definitely the best place to be when getting over a hangover!

The Mob Museum– This is exactly what it sounds like: a museum dedicated to mobsters and their way of life. I’ve been intrigued by mobster movies ever since I was a young child. I thought that they were so bad ass, though I’d always shy away from the violence. It wasn’t until I got older that I understood that this was a reality for some at one point. The mob was extremely calculated, and the dynamic of the lifestyle always left me curious with a sense of sadness. It may be too graphic to some, but as someone who loves Vegas, understanding it’s roots made me feel closer to the city.

Marchè Bacchus– An exquisite French restaurant that sits on lake Jacqueline. An elegant and delicious restaurant, the price you pay is well worth it. If you are a brunch kinda gal, this is your place. Bottomless mimosas every single day before 3pm, and I highly suggest you pair it with the truffled goat cheese Napoleon; which is a delicious puffed pastry with goat cheese, pistachios, honey, arugula, and Frisèe. It’s a little taste of France, or at least what I dream it to be. 

Downtown Summerlin Mall– This is one of my go to malls in Vegas as it has a variety of high end and local shops, with a total of 125 stores. They have live music every so often, plus it’s dog friendly(If there are dogs anywhere, sign me up)! One of my favorite local shops there is called Hottie,a fashion boutique that sells lounge wear to club wear for young adult women. They have sexy chic fashion, from matching crop top sets, to a sexy body con dress for a night out in the town. I’m always sure to stop in here for a sexy lounge and a last minute dress, since I’m chronically a last minute packer.. 

Drai’s NightClub–  One of my all time favorite night clubs located in the Cromwell hotel & casino on the Vegas strip. This was one of the first clubs I went to on my 21st birthday, and it was well worth it. There’s nothing better than a club that provides two different vibes, and music on two different sides of the club. It’s dimly lit, with gorgeous red velvet couches and black tables. The last time I was here my girlfriend was dancing on top of a table next to Wiz Khalifa as he was smoking a blunt, talking about a memorable night.
